Winter Warmers

Whilst we hate to admit it Summer-or what we like to call Summer-is nearly over. With that the launch of the Winter Collections begins and I've been rooting through them to bring you my pick if what I'll be buying this season.

Portobella cardigan in Silver Fox by Billabong- can just imagine jug snuggling up  in this with hot chocolate after a surf.

The Fedora dress in Heather Grey by Billabong is the perfect thing to throw on after a winter surf- its warm beasy to throw on over leggings.

I love the print on this All The Mountains sweater by QSW

Ok so it may be a dress but the QSW Native dress is just too pretty to overlook for Winter. Team it up with a thick knit cardigan and some boots for Autumn and Winter and then throw in sme sandals in Summer. I'll be living in this!

Every girl needs a comfortable pair of pants to wear - post surf or not- and I'll be buying these East Port Lounge Pants by QSW

The Amelie fleece by Rip Curl is another thing on my wish list!

Finally it wouldn't be Winter without a a coat and this Calexico Parka from O'Neil ticks the box!

Vintage Wetsuit Bags

After the initial sample bag made earlier this Summer I'm pleased to present the new and improved wetsuit bag. 

We have a much thicker waterproof lining and have also included a wax pocket just because we know how irritating it is to not be able to find your wax with rooting through your car. 

Fueling Salad

Food is the fuel of the body and every surfer knows how important it is to eat right but eating right does not always have to be boring so i am going to share with you a Bagabond HQ favourite.

Warm Spicy Beetroot, Butternut Squash and Feta Salad

This is so easy to make but so delicious!

Ingrediants:

Butternut Squash
Uncooked beetroot
Feta Cheese
Pine Nuts
Raw Spinach Leaves
Paprika
Olive Oil
Sea Salt

How to:
This is as easy as a recipe can be.

Preheat the oven to 200c (425f gas mark 7)
Peel and chop the butternut squash and the beetroot. Place in a bowl and lightly cover with olive oil, then sprinkle on some paprika and a littel sea salt. Make sure you toss the veg before putting on a baking tray.
Put the veg in the oven for 45 minutes until tender
Put some raw spinach leaves on a plate then put the veg on top
Crumble some feta and put on top of the veg and then add some pine nuts
Now enjoy!

Ettika Jewellery

I was very excited to stumble upon this L.A. based jewellery brand. Ettika creates these amazing bracelets and necklaces with a very bohemian feel and I was very excited to see that listed as one of their 'Ettika girls' was Surfer Girl!

This bracelet is one of the Surf Girl pieces and is available in gold or silver.

I am also in love with this stacking bracelet they have (can you tell I like blue?!) which is defintely on my wish list.

I also really like this beatiful aztec necklace- very now and so easy to throw on over a vest.

Nalu Beads New Release

You're not a surf girl if you have not heard of Nalu Beads. Nalu beads are individually handmade glass beads that are inspired by the ocean. Each bead is named after a surf spot and they also have a collection  named after popular surfboards such as "the Twinnie".

Nalu beads have this week just added three more beads to their Cornwall collection: Gwithian, Porthtowan and Portreath. Available to buy now!

Exhibition

Here are a few photos from yesterday's exhibition at Carnmarth, Newquay. As you can see we have some new great items we plan to launch next Summer but we can take custom orders now on any of these items if you don't want to wait until 2013 to buy them.

Two of a Kind

For those of you who may be in the Newquay area on 18 August please pop by the Carnmarth Hotel on Headland Road. Bagabond will be having an exhibition in collaboration with Neil Wilkinson Photography from 12pm-8pm at the Hotel. Neil will be showcasing a series of prints including some beautiful landscape and surf photographs as well as some fantastic shost from last week's Boardmasters. This is a sneek peek of one of Neil's most famous shots taken in Perranporth that will be available for purchase on the day either as a print or a canvas in various sizes.

We will of course have the boardsocks available for sale on the day and will be taking orders for any bespoke socks but we will also be launching some new exciting products for you surf girls out there. These have not even featured on the blog yet and have ben under wraps up to now so if you want to be the first to check these out come on down on Saturday, even if it is just to say hello!

Endless Winter

Surf Film Week

There's nothing better than a good surf film and Cornwall has three to offer you over the next few weeks. 

First up is the classic Point Break at Sandymouth, Bude on 10 August 2012 as part of Hall for Cornwall's 'surf series' outdoor screenings.

Next up on 12 August is El Mar Mi Alma at Newquay Cinema. This is the first stop on it's UK cinema tour. Stephen Jones' creation about the surf scene in Chile was filmed entirely on 16mm camera and he will be present at the Newquay Screening for a special Q&A session. 

Finally, Watershed are showing the ultimate surf film Big Wednesday on 15 August and there's even a free Bear Roam t shirt in it for you too!

Sunday Sessions

This song reminds me of a girl's only surf trip about 4 years ago in Hossegor. There is one French radio station - NRG- that plays the same songs over and over again and agt the time we were there this song was on their play list. We heard it so many times but never gor bored of blasting it out and singing at the top of our lungs.
